This motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H97M-ITXac/

I bought it a few months ago from NewEggs, the "wifi module bracket" is lost while I was installing the hardware. I thought it was okay but turns out it's not. Wifi signal is weak and bluetooth is unstable, some times too unstable that it cannot recognize my Mac wireless keyboard, I have to open up the computer chassis and re-plug the card to make it work again.

I want to find a replacement for that bracket, where may I find one to buy? If there is no where selling it, would you suggest a way to make one?

Thanks a lot in advances!

OK. Back up now I have put my computer back together (and cleaned some dust out of my fans)

Surprise! The student that assembled my computed screwed the bracket to the WiFi card, but left out the screw to the motherboard, so my card has been loose for the last year!

1. Don't bother with the bracket. The card may stay in the socked just fine by itself. (If there are few shakes or vibrations)

2. Do you have the screws? If so, put the screw into the motherboard and the screw into the card, get some fine nylon fishing line, make a running loop and close it over the screw on the motherboard and tie tight-ish around the screw on the card.

3. Use the fishing line to tie the card from the hole in the motherboard, to the holes in the...

Hello, sorry for the late reply, and thank you for replying! I'm in Arizona. I'm not sure how to 3D print one. And I don't have its dimension measured, so I can't draw one in 3D either. I also have no experience how to make one with sheet metal, plastic card or plexiglass XD. Plywood doesn't sound like it's gonna last for long tho..

I have spent many years making models of one sort or another. Plywood would work, but.....

Then don't use the bracket at all. A small plastic zip tie will hold the board in place.

I use that board a lot in our school builds, so I'm pretty familiar with it. This system uses that board.

What's your case? Having the motherboard horizontal would help.

Where can I put the plastic zip tie in? I mean there is no hole nearby on the motherboard so I can tie the wifi card with. The board is in a vertical case, it can't stand horizontally. Is there some kind of glue that I can stick in there without messing up things?

If you ever need to replace or remove the card, you can just cut the line. (That's why, amongst other things, NO GLUE!)

You can also cut off an loose ends of the line to keep them fromattracting dust or getting caught in fans.

Solution

Thank you so much!! Such a simple and brilliant solution I never thought of!
