First post so...hello all!!

Please excuse this very basic question but I'm about to order one of these motherboards and a new G3258 (as well as 4GB DDR3 1600 ram) and I am not sure if I'll be able to do what I'd like.

I have a PC that I built a couple of years ago with an AMD processor and 1TB hard drive that is still running Windows XP. If I remove the current motherboard/processor/ram and swap to the H97M/G3258/DDR3 1600 ram will it work properly with my current hard drive that has Win XP??

Thank you very much in advance!

Solution
Short answer, it "MIGHT" run, but probably not.
AMD chipsets and Intel chipsets are very different, so most likely your XP won't boot.
You are better off doing a clean install with a newer OS.
