Asrock hdmi in, help

Hello everybody, first off I want to say I have been searching on google and in this forums and can't find anything that helps, so I'm now asking the question.

So far to my knowledge the asrock hdmi in will work if you use the hdmi out in the motherboard. But since I have a gaming pc I use my graphics card's vga output. So when I click the hotkey to switch to my hdmi in, nothing happens.

I was hoping someone knows a program/driver which can direct/manage all these in- and outputs so that I can use the hdmi in with my graphic's cards hdmi out.

Specs aren't really necesarry but if you want it I'll post it.

edit: to understand it better here is my scenario:
I have my gaming pc and my x360 console and only one monitor. I have my pc connected through my gpu to my monitor with vga and my x360 connected to my asrock mobo's hdmi in. When I'm done playing pc I want to press one button and go to my x360 on the same monitor.

If there is no solution can someone at least recommend a splitter that will work.

What inputs does your display have?

I would just connect both the PC and Xbox to the screen, then use the screen's input switch.

dvi, vga, and hdmi, only problem is then I don't have any sound as my monitor does not have built in speakers, that's why I want to use the hdmi in and use my pc's stereo if thats even possible

I don't know if the HDMI in puts sound out to your speakers. I doubt it.

A second set of speakers is probably the easiest option.

I'm not sure what the Xbox has by way of audio out. Usually there's at least a headphone jack.

One other thing: Your display might have an audio out on it. Check that.

Sadly my monitor does not have any sound output or built in speakers, also the only outputs my xbox have is hdmi and the yellow red and white connectors for old tv's. I'll continue research on the topic. And if there is any new questions I'll start another thread. Thanks for the help.

Getting from twin RCA to a 3.5mm headphone jack is about a $2 adapter.

oh then just say so silly. buuuuut I cant be bothered to search for the model number now, it just says acer on it. I've solved the problem just by moving the xbox to a different room, but thanks for the help.
