ASRock Instant Flash just sitting at Checking

ok I was trying to upgrade my brothers bios on his PC
It is a ASROCK N68-Vs3FX it had version 1.2 and I was trying to update it to 1.8 so when he got Windows 8 , it would be compatible, he has a ibuypower PC, has a AMD fx cpu, any ways i went through all the steps on this site to instant flash

I unziped the file to the usb drive, it was 1 mb in size,
I restarted the PC and hit F6 to do instant flash,
Now it has been siting here saying
Checking [1]\N68vsf1.80 for about 37mins now or more.
Did this hang up and i should restart?
I am not sure what to do for this, If you guys can help me please

The best advice that I could give would be to shutdown. Did it say anything about flashing yet or just checking? If it only said checking and has hung, then it probably was a bad copy of the updated BIOS to the USB. Redownload, copy to USB again, and try again. Either way, you are going to have to eventually turn it off.
