I installed my i7-14700k on my ASRock Z790 Taichi Lite motherboard only to find that it doesn't POST. Started digging into the problem. That pointed to the original 1.06 BIOS needing flashing, and that lead me to discovering there is no FLASHBACK feature, i.e. no way to flash the BIOS. Reddit has some posts on the issue, but the World Wide Web seems silent on this.

Isn't this an issue for many recent purchasers on this? How do I move forward?

Flashback, the way to flash BIOS without CPU present is still rare feature so only way is to use compatible CPU or take to a shop that has it or apparatus to directly flash BIOS. Other than that, if you can, exchange for same MB manufactured at later date. MB manufacturers get several month lead to develop and install BIOS compatible with new CPUs. You must have gotten some early model.

You have one of the first motherboards made. around 6/2023.
The enabling bios was released 3 months later on 9/2023.

1) If you have the option, swap your motherboard for a more recent one.
2) Buy a G6900 for about $50 to do the update.
3) Pay a shop to update the bios for you.
