Last month I took advantage of a sale at Micro Center for the i5-4690k along with a further discount of The ASRock H97M Pro4 motherboard if I purchased them in a combo. For only $40 I thought the MB was worth it if needed later on.

I did not have any initial intention of overclocking hence buying the H97 board (they did not have the Z97 version) but I recently found that they include a feature called Non-Z OC that can overclock a -K processor on the HXX series motherboards.
From the user manual all I can gather is that you can only change the CPU clock ratio to set clock speeds to their defined values.
Has anyone ever used this feature or know the finite details of how the Non-Z OC feature works or if its worth even using?
It's a one line setting and I do not want to risk an i5 even though it was on sale.
Any info would be very helpful.
Thank you.
