Asrock p67 extreme 4 problem

Hello,
i just got my motherboard in the mail but i dont have my ram or cpu yet i connected the power expecting the fans to be working but they were not is it the motherboard or do i need to install other components before i will be able to tell?

First connect evrything.

Your jumping the gun a little bit and you need to wait for the other components and put it all together , there is no purpose to connecting anything now just to see the fans spin. They won't because you need the cpu in there.
