The ASRock flagship board is powered by the Intel P67 chipset and features Sandy Bridge processor support, a passive cooler, 16-phase power, golden solid capacitors, three PCI-Express x16 slots enabling SLI and CrossFireX multi-GPU setups, and four DDR3-2133 memory slots. It is equipped with a PLX bridge chip, and has four SATA 6.0 Gbps and six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet, four USB 3.0 connectors, eSATA, FireWire, 7.1 channel audio, a debut LED, and Power, Reset and Cleat CMOS buttons. If you need more USB 3.0 then there's also a on-board connector for two more such ports.

The P67 Extreme6 is expected to be launched in early January.

I may choose ASRock this time around, but I'll probably buy in Feb.

There's a lot of voltage regulation there... I wonder what "golden solid capacitors" actually means though. I hope it doesn't mean "cheap Chinese caps painted gold so you will buy them."

What i'd really like to know as this as it is priced really well in Aus, is whether that top PCI-E x1 slot is able to fit a sound card (in particular my Xonar Essence STX), as the heatsink does not seemed to be indented to allow for this?

I know this is an older preview but just in case someone reads and wonders. The gold colored capacitors are Nichicon Capacitors. Nichicon is one of Japans most highly regarded capacitor manf. Nichicon=quality
