Hello everyone,

Thanks in advance. I recently rebuilt my computer. These are my current specs:

ASrock Pro4S Z170M
Intel Core i3-6100
MSI Radeon RX 480 4GB
8GB Team Elite DDR
60GB SSD
2TB HD

Everything is connected correctly as far as I can tell and windows is currently booting but every time I try to boot to uefi, it freezes and I lose the ability to boot windows. I have to clear my cmos in order to get it back.

I would love any insight on the problem in general, but specifically I'm wondering if I should attempt updating the bios. I'm running 2 versions behind the current iteration and I feel that could be the problem but I know there is risk involved. Even though I can't access the bios, is it safe to try to update through windows?

Thanks again, let me know if I can add other information.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm already at 2.8, can I flash 2.9 and 7.0 from there or do I need to go backwards? It would seem like downgrading would be more da dangerous.

Thank you so much, one last question. I can't access the bios at all so I can't use the instant flash setting from there. Is it safe to use the windows version to attempt update?
