Heya!
I recently built my cousin a new PC equipped with the following specs:

But unfortunately, the GPU driver crashes and recovers while playing games for a while (every game crashes after a certain time):
Rust - 5 minutes after joining a server
GTA V - After a couple of hours
Destiny 2 - After around 30 minutes
CSGO - Around 1 hour
Furmark - After around 30 seconds
When the driver crashes and recovers the game crashes and sometimes even the whole PC freezes.
One time actually while he was playing CSGO his screen turned gray, the fans started spinning really fast and the whole machine froze.
He actually never actually got a bluescreen.

What I've done so far (in the same order):
  • Update the BIOS to latest - F50
  • Download the latest drivers
  • Downloading Windows Updates

  • Overclocking both RAM and GPU - didn't work - same crash
  • Run Memtest86 - no errors
  • Speed up the GPU fans by tuning the fan curve - no changes
  • Look for the crash in the Event viewer - the logs say that the display driver crashed and was recovered successfully
  • DDU the driver (20.1.4) and install a WHQL one - 20.1.2 - I think it fixed Furmark crashes, but still all games crash after a certain time
  • Clear CMOS - no changes
I think I've tried everything software-wise. I'll meet him on Saturday and I'll look if everything is good hardware-wise and if all cables are attached firmly.

After all of this, I'm starting to think that the issue is caused by either a defective GPU or PSU.
Let me know what you guys think. Do you think it's a hardware malfunction? 600W not enough for the system? Bad PSU or GPU?

Thanks in advance! 😓
