ASRock X370 Taichi help!!

I wanted to turn on my case and motherboard just to see how they looked. So I hooked up the fans to the motherboard and a 500w power supply I had from a previous build. Once I plugged up the power switch, 24 pin connector, 8 pin connector along with the fans to the motherboard. I turned the psu on and the less lit up on Thebes motherboard, but when I turned the power button on nothing happened. I made sure the power switch was in the right spot. I know my psu works. I tried jumping it with a screwdriver and nothing happens. I hooked up just the case fans to the fan and did the paper clip trick and the fans and psu came on. Anybody have an idea whats going on ?

Connect the case fans to either motherboard, or power supply. Not to both.

I had them plugged into the motherboard first. After they didn’t work I plugged them up to just the psu without the motherboard and the case fans and psu both came on.

Then I suggest waiting for the CPU and then testing.
