ASRock Z170 m-ITX - does it support any Samsung M.2 drives

Checked the Z170 m-ITX motherboard drive support list, but didn't find any Samsung devices listed.
Does anyone have any idea whether these Samsung ones might work with the board:

SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 512GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V5P512BW
SAMSUNG 850 EVO M.2 500GB SATA III 3-D Vertical Internal SSD Single Unit Version MZ-N5E500BW

Are there any rules of thumb to follow for judging drive and mobo compatibility?

This board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157651&cm_re=asrock_z170_mitx-_-13-157-651-_-Product lacks an M.2 slot on the back (unlike my ASRock Z97E mITX, which has one)

Most mITX boards are too small for M.2 It needs to go on the back of the board, the front is full.

Most high end (Z) boards larger then mITX have at least one, and up to three M.2 slots today and many have the faster PCIe x4 NVMe compatible slots.

That board has an Ultra M2. on the back.
