Im looking to upgrade my rig to a ddr4 system and ive seen that the asrock z170's pro4 and extreme4 come at (a non negligible) 30 euros difference, in favor of the extreme one, but their specs are pretty much the same.
Any reason to spend a bit more cash for extreme or should i just go for the pro one?

Solution
The Extreme4 has the following advantages:

- USB 3.1
- better CF performance due to better PCIe x16 lanes
- SLI support (which the pro4 doesn't)
- better onboard Audio (Realtek 1150 vs 892)
- 1 extra PWM fan header
- RAM support up to DDR4-3866 (instead of 3200MHz)
- also the Pro4 needs additionally a Molex connection for some reason which the Extreme4 doesn't require

so if you're not too picky about the sound (difference is a pain for some, for some inaudible) and don't plan on going SLI anyway and also plan to upgrade in 2-3 years to another board anyway, then go with the pro4

otherwise the extreme4 is probably worth it, for the USB3.1 and better sound chip alone
