Hi All,

First time I'm building my own PC, and clearly struggling.

ASRock z270M Pro4 Motherboard ( Newegg )
Intel Core i5-7500 Kaby Lake Quad-Core 3.4 GHz LGA ( Newegg )
HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2400 ( Newegg )
WD 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB SATA 6GB/s HDD ( Newegg )
CORSAIR CX Series CX650 650W ATX12V 80 ( Newegg )

Before purchasing parts, I checked compatibility as per ASRock's site for CPU and memory ( ASRock )

I followed all instructions on installing CPU, connecting fans, connecting 24pin ATX power supply etc, connecting HDD and installing RAM. I connected a monitor via HDMI (also tried VGA) to the onboard display and turned on the machine. The fans start, but I can see no indicator LEDs on the motherboard, there is no beeping, the screen stays blank. There's no sign that the machine begins to boot. I've tried removing and replacing the motherboard's coin cell. I'm pretty stumped as to why it won't even boot or give me the option to go to the BIOS.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks,

Craig!

Solution
ATX12V/EPS with 8 pins and not only one 4pin plug connected ?

CPU socket pins of the motherboard bent?

spacer between motherboard and case installed correctly? all in the correct places?

just connect:
motherboard, CPU with cooler (CPU fan connected to "CPU_FAN1" or ""CPU_FAN2", not "CHA_fan" or similar), one RAM (toggle all slots and RAM sticks),

reset cmos (clrCMOS) by jumper
