Hello there.

I have the Asrock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard and I have updated the bios because my motherboard does not see any running hdds (v2.90). With the new bios and ssds, when I connected the hdds while the system was running, the LED on the motherboard gave the A2 error. I've taken the previous version of the Asrock site, L2.21 version number bios (bios over instant flash with) I waited in half was expected to wait but I was not completed. Now when the PC turns on F9 error, there is no image on the screen, when I insert the USB, the image comes up and the Uefi Recovery screen opens, but it comes down to the quarter and freezes there and doesn't let me do anything.

I tried to recover;

Clear cmos key on the back of the motherboard, flash memory with ms dos on autosetup flash, motherboard cd, bios battery disassembly etc. none of them unfortunately did not work.

Sorry for bad english.

when I connected the hdds while the system was running, the LED on the motherboard gave the A2 error.
According to the manual page 44, A2=IDE Detect you may kill the MB. You should never never install any hardware while the PC is on. You should shut down the PC, install the hardware, then power it up.

For the F9=Recovery capsule is not found manual page 43.

For the BIOS update, don't use the old version L2.21, try the newer one 2.9 version. And here is how to update the BIOS, read it carefully, then try again. If you still have the problem, you may get the new BIOS chip online to replace the BIOS chip. After that if you still have the problem, the MB will be gone forever.

First of all thank you for the answer.

No hardware is connected to the system, but I cannot do any operation because the bios is in recovery mode. And this process freezes pc on the go. Where can I buy the Bios chip reliably?

Hi cin19. I recovered bios with CH341A. The old version bios was working with all the disks, but with the new bios (v2.90, v3.0 etc.) I get an A2 (IDE detected) error. SSD disks works but when I install the HDDs it gives A2 error. It's not on the asrock website in the old bios, what can I do?

I think I wrote it wrong because my English is bad. I didn't wear the hdd while the pc was running. HDDs are working on another PC. When I connect the HDD to the SSD sata slot, it gives the A2 error again. In summary; HDDs and SATA cable are working. New bios, I think problematic.

How do I find the old bios? Asrock's website has only v2.90 versions.

Only data on HDDs. The operating system is running on the SSD. v1.50 is very old and unfortunately caused problems in Gskill memory. I think the bios version running smoothly was v2.35.

Thank you very much @cin19
