Do you think the Hyper 212 EVO would fit? If I put my Corsair Vengeance in slot 1 which is DDR3_A1? I'm using a dual channel memory, and as the manual suggested me to install them in slot 1 & 3 (DDR3_A1 & DDR3_B1) but if it doesn't fit do you think put them in a 2 & 4 (DDR3_A2 & DDR3_B2) affects any performances?

Solution

According to the ASRock manual. A1 is closest to CPU, then A2. Populating slots A2 and B2 does not affect performance. ASRock recommends one of three choices: A1 and B1, A2 and B2, or A1 A2 B1 B2.

Do you already have the Vengeance RAM? If not, get lower profile RAM. If you really want that cooler and RAM, search google or even read reviews on Newegg. I recall reading just about every motherboard and RAM combo in the EVO reviews on Newegg.

[strike]Not sure why it wouldn't work in slots 1 and 3. 1 is the one furthest from the CPU. Now, slot 4 could be a challenge, but it depends. [/strike]

I use B2 and A2 cuz I have high heat spreaders and CM Evo on a Pro 3. I don't believe there is any performance hit. A2 and B2 are closest to the CPU, not A1 and B1.

A1, A2, B1, B2,
so A1 & B1 are closer...?

Cooler Master Evo will fit RAM easily in A2 and B2.
