ASRock Z77 extreme 4, i think, is causing ridiculous boot times, plus more...

My boot time is over 7 minutes. It gets past initial asrock logo and then it is stuck on starting windows screen. When i'm finally logged in i can't use windows explorer. I'm trying to find the drivers i've installed for my Mobo as i've read another thread that say it's fixed it for alot of people.

My build is:
Asrock z77 extreme 4
Intel core i5-3470
8 gb corsair vengence
120gb samsung SSD
1 TB WD Green
EVGA GTX 770

what's your OS and when was the last re-install of this OS?
my experience is either the system needs re-install or your hard drive is about to fail
anyway, back up your stuff first....

Windows 7, reinstall about 2 months ago, harddrive is new 🙁

when you get to desk top look in the event viewer and see what theres listed . sounds like its struggling to load something up like a system driver or device driver ??

will it start normally with safe mode boot ?

try control panel -- administration tools -- system configuration - boot - check safe boot -

Yeah i've checked the Sata and it's fine, i moved the sata's from the asrock ports into the intel ports, now the PC runs fine when loaded but loading is still takes a long time.

It worked fine for a while then 2 months after completion it just stopped loading as quickly and slowed down considerably
All drivers are Updated and so is the Bios

If this worked at some point, this means an existing hardware is failing, OR you installed a new hardware it doesn't like, OR (most likely scenario) you installed some funky software/contracted some malware.

I recommend restore system to a point when you remember it was working good, IF you been diligent making backups.

Otherwise I would reinstall OS from scratch OR run an anti-virus hoping to catch the malware. I personally prefer the fresh OS install.

This helped a whole lot, my boot time is now 20 seconds, which is excellent, apparently i didn't update my drivers even though i double checked i had. Weird, but it's all fixed now. At least for a little bit, i hope!
