Asrock Z77 Extreme4 second pci-express problem

Hi, my second card is not recognised when it is in the second pci-express 16x slot, it doesn't appear in windows or in the bios. When there is only one card plugged in the second pcie 16x slot I can't see an image on the screen. I've cleared CMOS and updated the bios and there is still nothing.

The motherboard is the Asrock Z77 Extreme4 with an i5-2500k and both card works.

Hi, It might be a damaged slot, or a CPU socket bent pins issue.

I don't think so, the cpu pins appeared not bent, the slot appeared ok. Also, my first card is getting a full pcie 16x link to the cpu when there is only one card installed and a 8x pcie link when there is two card installed, according to GPU-Z.

Try a single card in the 2nd slot!
You did go into the control panel and enable SLI right?

I did try a single card in the second slot and it doesn't work(no video) and I can't enable SLI because the card in the second slot because is not recognised by windows (its not in devices manager) or by the bios.

Dead slot.
Could still be CPU pins or just needs adjusted some remove it and inspect the pins with a magnifying glass and reinstall it.
You will need to remove and reapply the paste when you do this.

Yeah thats probably it, the pins in the slots seems fine and I don't have bent CPU pins since the primary card has access to the full 16x PCIe link to the CPU.
