My current setup:
  • Asrock Z87 extreme4 motherboard
  • i5-4570
  • 2x 8GB and 2x 4GB rams
  • GTX970
  • 750W PSU
So I got myself an i7-4790 and tried to upgrade it into my system. But the PC just can't boot and dr.debug shows code 00.
Therefore, I did a CMOS reset (unplug the power cable, take out CMOS battery and switch the jumper and waited 15mins). Nothing changed.
So reseated CPU, GPU, RAM, my 8pin power cable and still nothing changed.

I updated my bios to P3.40 already but I could try reflashing it again since I only did it once.

So after many failed attempts, I switch back to my i5-4570 and it boots up normally. I tried the i7-4790 on another PC and it is working though.
Not sure what is causing the issue.

Sorry for the post. Well the great news is reflashing my bios actually solve the problem.

Initially, I thought my bios update was good as it shows update successfully and even the version reflected on my CPU-ID was correct. But apparently, somehow it was corrupted and unable to boot up with i7 CPU.
