So when I first built my PC, I put the HDMI cable for my monitor (Acer S230HL) into my graphics card (GTX 760). When I try to plug in the monitor into the HDMI input on the motherboard, it doesn't work; the monitor just reads "No Signal". Any idea what's going on/how to fix?
Thanks.
(motherboard is an asrock z87 extreme 6)

Solution
you must go into bios and make sure both igp and gpu are enabled to be able to utilize mobos hdmi. however your gpu is a lot better and should be prefered! could easily run 3xmonitors without breaking a sweat.!
well you cpu has igp and should use mobos hdmi if you dindnt have gtx 760! however you could also use the mobos hdmi for multi- monitor setup but still running through gtx 760 is still better. it isnt a problem actually. what exactly do you have in mind!?

Ah ok. I just wanted to see if I could run it through the cpu, since I thought the monitor might have been putting strain on the gpu. Just curious, would there be a way to run it from the motherboard?
