[SOLVED] ASRock Z97 Extreme 4 SMPS power supply!

Hello,

Recently I upgraded my PC with New Motherboard and processor.

For new motherboard ASRock Z97 Extreme 4, I see 8 pin Power supply needed. But my SMS has 4 pin. Fortunately 4 pin supply worked fine and pc running fine.

In Motherboard installation manual it has given instruction to install 4pin on 8 pin.

Now my question it fine to use 4pin power supply. any issue will occurs? or face any issue in future due to this?

Kindly provide info on this.

Which power supply, brand and model.
Usually that 8pin its used for extra juice and less voltage drop for overclocking.

But if your PSU is craptastic, its running of an single lane on PCB to dual 8pin EPS connectors, soo its useless (From PSU design).

In short, yes its fine, no issues will occur.
