Hey guys!
I'm currently running an Asrock 97 Extreme 6 motherboard and my question would be, would a 1070 or 1080 be support on my motherboard? ATM I am currently running a 750 TI and feel the need to upgrade to something new.

Solution
Yes. I have myself an AsRock Z97 Extreme6 and a GTX 1070. I also upgraded frol a 750 Ti 😀 (with a 970 between). Very good stuff, you can buy it. Recommended for 1440p gaming or 1080p.

Btw, don't forget the psu. With such a motherboard i assume you already have a good one and that you did youe homework. It should be at least a 500W model and not too cheap.

oh sweet, thanks for answering! I am currently running an 850PSU so I should be in the green!
And just one last question. Would you say it;s better to save up for the 1080 or just go with the 1070?

In the end, I think I should have got the GTX 1080. But that was too expensive when i payed it. It depends on what you want play and if the money is worth it. Do you play at 1080p with maximum of 60 fps/hz? And in some games you don't mind not getting the highest settings in every settings tab? No problem, the 1070 is enough and works brilliant. I play at 1440p with 144Hz/fps now and to me the GTX 1070 is just not enough.

Mhm alright. I'm currently playing on 60Hz on 1080p. I'm not too fussed about not getting high on all settings, I usually play most games on low so anything is better as of now.
I'd stick with 1080 for as long as I can tbh seeing I don't have much need for anything higher and is quite happy with what I have.
I believe it's about a 300-500 price difference (AUD) and think it's better just to save up for the long run
