Asrock z97 extreme code 55 error help

Hey all.

Specs.
Asrock z97 extreme 4
I5-4690k
Hyperx 8gb 1 stick

Been using pc fine for a few months but recently it started resetting itself. Tonight it shut off and failed to post. When I opened it code 55 was displayed.

I've took out all USB and pc components leaving cpu, hsf and ram. Took out cmos battery and resetted bios. Still shows code 55 and have tried all 4 slots. Checked memory was compatible with mobo.

What is the likely cause? Faulty ram or mobo?

Usually a code 55 means no memory is detected. Since you're only using 1 stick I'd say chances are pretty high its just a faulty stick.

Get on newegg and buy a new memory kit.
