hello good people. im not an experienced builder but I have done 4 or 5.
this one has me really stumped and frustrated.

Specs:
Mobo- asrock z97 pro4 atx lga 1150
CPU- Intel I7 4790K
Ram- Crucial Ballistix 2-8gb ddr3 1600 (bls2cp8g3d169ds00)

at first the computer would not even post. 4 beeps.
so I bench tested it by using only 1 stick of ram and it still 4 beeps
I then switched sticks and bam ! it worked. no beeps, in to bios.

I installed windows 8 and half way through I got an error, so I went through the whole..
boot menu, tried to install windows again and that time it worked.
but now its randomly shutting down.
for some odd reason, I can randomly open up internet explorer, at times that wont even open, giving a "internet explorer has stopped working"

im really at a loss for words. im thinking maybe the other stick of ram is working at 80 percent.
or is this ram maybe a problem for the asrock and Intel ?
I don't know but I would sure appreciate any help I can find.
thank you so much

Solution
figured it out.
it was bad Ram. the crucial ballistix DDR3 1600. one stick was bad, the other worked but not to full potential.
it kept shutting down when the computer used more resources. (opening IE, Exc.)

switched to corsair DDR3 1600 and now both sticks work, she fly's nicely.
if your doing a new build with the Asrock Z Pro4 / Intel I7 4790K
don't be like me and skimp out (don't be cheap trying to save a buck on Ram)
get the Ram that is meant for this CPU.

it was a huge headache I wish I could have avoided.

Solution
"at first the computer would not even post. 4 beeps"

I'm glad you fixed it but I should point out to you that if you get BIOS beeps, they are triggered by the POST process.

So to say that "the computer would not even post" is incorrect.
When POST failure occurs, you don't get any beeps at all.
