Hullo Jeff
I have exactly that - ASRock z97 Pro4 running W7x64 with Intel SSD for OS and 2 SATA 3 (6GB/s) Seagate Barracude 7200.12 drives configured as Raid 1 for data.
The issue I have is if one of the drives doesn't switch on within a few milliseconds of the other, Intel Rapid Storage Technology console reports it as a failed disk - so I go in to the software, mark the drive as normal, and let it rebuild the RAID.
There's clearly something going on as sometimes the drives are reported as 3Gb/s, sometimes as 6GB/s (which should be irrelevant as no HDD will ever reach 3GB/s let alone 6GB/s!)
So if I might hi-jack your thread, what's the best HARDWARE as opposed to onboard software RAID solution?
=)
