Hi guys,I am trying to run the game at max settings, but I feel slight lag.
My specs:
CPU: i5 3570k
Graphic card: Sapphire 7870 2gb
Ram: 8gb
Resolution: 1920x1080
Maybe updating graphic card drivers will work?thanks in advance
its not that the game isnt optimized its the god rays (volumetric lighting) slaughter performance when set to high. setting them to low will have little effect on the visuals but will double your fps in some cases.

In the video I posted god rays were off and 780ti still couldn't reach 60FPS avg.
Even if turning god rays off, or lowering their quality improves FPS, there's still an optimization problem with AC 4
well ive been playing on a hd 5870 which is about half as powerful and getting 45 fps. max settings(apart from godrays) with fxaa. 20 with god rays on high. it may be nvidia specific with the drivers coz im using older 13.6 amd 1s.

believe it or not it probably has nothing to do with yourr system. In fact, i was having the same problems on my rig, which is beyond recommended requirements, and realized once i disconnected from the internet, regardless of graphics settings, i get full fps. while connected to the internet, I only was getting 15 - 20.
I also began running the game w/out Uplay and disconnected from the internet.
Whatever "enhancements" Uplay adds is bullshit and definitely affects performance.
I've noticed similar results in Splinter Cell BL and FC3.
I know older thread but.....for some reason when I researched this issue more I found a discussion about it on the NVIDIA forum. Apparently if you, WHEN in game (each time you run the game), open task manager and go to details and look for ac4bfsp.exe then right click and use set affinity and drop the last core and the lag should leave. It did for me and I run a GTX 750ti and I max all settings. hope this helps some one else.
Haha, more like "Assasin's Creep IV: Black Lag"... the game is clearly poorly optimized as is common for a console port. And common for UbiSchrott.
I have a 2500k running at 4.4GHz and a water cooled Radeon R9 290X running flat out at full speed without thermal throttling. The game will drop below 60fps on highest settings in certain scenes. I get 60fps most scenes but it doesn't feel like 60fps. I think it doesn't take VSync=On well, some games have that problem.
So your "slight lag" with a 7870 seems quite normal, actually it seems to be a very good result.
