Assassin's Creed Unity requirements

may of had new code that was demanding and now they got it streamlined and more efficient ? trying new stuff out before it was 100% complete ?

same as how a patch can improve better smother game play or increase fps and all in some games just worked on things and in the next game release it was better less demanding overall ?

newer games most times come out with newer better hardware and drivers to support the games ??
 
AC Unity released Nov 2014 recommended requirement GTX 780
AC Rogue released Mar 2015 recommended requirement GTX 560 Ti
AC Syndicate released Nov 2015 recommended requirement GTX 760

They are using the same game engine. Like junkeymonkey said, maybe its the coding.?
 
I have only played AC Rogue and it runs great and I had an awesome experience playing it as it was the first AC game I actually played for mysef. I thought Unity had a good story and wanted to try it out. But am not sure how well it will run on my i3-4160 and GTX 750 Ti. I saw YouTube videos of gameplay with an i3 and a GTX 970 and it got about the same performance I get on Rogue with my 750 Ti.
 
just get the game and adjust it out that bests fits your system ? just because it don't run with everything at ultra settings don't mean its not going to look or play well , everything got there limitations most times you cant really see [on the screen with your eyes ] the difference between something that's set on med from ultra anyway .. with the best parts it can be better to down tune settings to get the best out of the game

Assassin's Creed Unity is very demanding for a number of reasons.

1) It has very good textures which is much more advanced than the ones you find in AC Rogue and Black Flag. I have played Coop for hours and it "looks" amazing.

2) It's not optimized well. It's not playable without the updates. And updates are around 20GBs. Assassin's Creed Unity was considered as a failed and broken game in the release days. But now it's a lot better with the updates.

And you just said GTX 750 Ti has the same performance with the GTX 970 when the CPUs are identical. That can't happen. I think you are confused because of Vsync. It caps fps.

Talking about the topic your GTX 750 Ti would handle Unity in medium settings. But don't expect butter smooth 60 fps. And the game is very CPU demanding. You should keep that in mind too.

if its a cpu bound game and don't rely on gpu processing it can

so with that cpu processing power is a factor
 


It's definitely been improved, however. My I5-4460 has each core at about 50% utilization when playing Unity. It is optimized for four cores properly and my CPU handles it without a problem. On the other hand, my GPU is at a constant 100% and basically heating my room.
 


Binning could help overclocking, but for a locked chip where everything is the same frequency, I don't see how there could be a performance difference.
 
there is I don't use ''k'' chips anymore and some are better then others but you got to remember anything the chip is hooke to can come into play alls got to work well hand in hand like the board may have a weak vrm or a trace bios off [its just a firmware program] psu

this 4670 I'm running now does better than the ones in its reviews / benchmark sites on it I got one that don't [of 3] ??? same board and all just swapped out the chips and tested to see what one I would keep for my self ?

look at amd chips you cant depend on one from the next to run the same . that's the best example lol......

I believe I was saying that I get 45fps with ultra settings on AC Rogue with GTX 750 Ti, while I saw video gameplay of the same CPU (i3-4160) + GTX 970 getting 45fps on AC Unity. Same performance (45fps max settings) but on different games and different systems. Maybe AC Unity is more CPU bound than is AC Rogue..
 


Yeah, it has the lowest recommended hardware requirements out of the last 3 AC games. I enjoyed the hell out of playing it when it was new and fresh to me.
 


The Rogue/Black Flag engine was the best. The fighting mechanics were very simple to understand (thought too easy, they could have improved the difficulty). In Unity, there is a lot more to memorize when it comes to the controls, and with the graphics being choppy, it's not a fun experience like Black Flag and Rogue were for me.

AC3 was also a very good one, but Black Flag really hit the sweet spot with the control system. Things like scrolling the mouse wheel to change the projectile weapon made it all very simple. The only other AC game that played poorly for me was Brotherhood; there was microstuttering only if I moved the mouse, and it got annoying but the game was playable.
 


I thought I would enjoy AC III but the controls were so different than Rogue I couldn't play it without remapping all of the controls, and after attempting that it did not play the same. You say Black Flags is more like Rogue? That's good to know. Thanks.
