Hi all,

Please bear with me 'cause l really need your help. I tried yesterday to get my rig assembled. I pushed the ON button, the fans started and the Mobo lit up, but the monitor gave me the "Check Signal" message, no display at all. I tried between HDMI and DVI, nothing happened, the system is running but l don't see a thing.

I am sure that l am doing something wrong as this is my first rig ever, so please help me out.

My mobo is Asrock Z77 extreme 4, my CPU is i5 3570k, my PSU is Corsair 650TX.
My case is Challenger U3.

I removed the GPU but the problem is the same, now something else is happening, the fans start up for 5seconds, then the systems totally shuts down, then starts up again on its own, and so on.

Thanks.

Did you use the standoffs under the motherboard (or raised bumps if the mobo tray has those) ?
Also, reset the BIOS to defaults by using the jumper and/or removing the battery (with the PSU unplugged or switched off so it isn't supplying +5VSB).

I just had similar issues getting a new rig started up; try to disconnect all peripherals before powering on, save for video and cooling equipment.

I had to juggle the "where and how" that I connected my USB ports, of all things, before the power up was complete.

CPU cable, main power 24 cable, 2 cables into the HDD caviar black, 2 cables to the optical drive, all cables of the case.
Anything missing?

The Mobo iz well fitted with gold bumps, yes.
What should the jumper setting be? I left it as it came.

I checked the RAMs again, and the cables of the case, nothing.

Now the rig keeps starting up for 5 seconds and shutting down for another 5 seconds on its own non stop cycle, all while no display on monitor. I am scared now l fried something so l turned it off.
