Hey people! Been a long while since I’ve posted on here, and I’ll keep this (hopefully) brief.

It’s been six years and I’m due for an upgrade. For a slight overspend in the $1500+ range, I’ve gone and done some.. research. I’m somewhat versed in the world of components, but perhaps this build will be able to run modern titles on Ultra with no lag. I’m primarily concerned about compatibility, botlenecking, voltage and the like, and I’d appreciate any assistance with a good gaming AMD Ryzen build.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pHdGJb (let me know if that works!)

Also, (I don’t want to open a can of worms here), but is it even worth going into CrossFire for gaming purposes if I only have a 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor? Thanks for the assistance in advance!

Just a heads up,
I am not a fan of Corsair RAM kits on a Ryzen system because I have seen a LOT of posts here about them not running at their rated speeds.
So be sure to check the Memory QVL on the MSI Tomahawk support page to be sure the RAM kit you buy is listed there and listed at it's full rated speed.

The kit you have listed (CMW32GX4M2C3200C16) is Not on the QVL (Compatibilty list):
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX#support-mem-19

PS
If you aren't doing any Memory Intensive work like 3d Modeling/Rendering, I'd get a 16 GB kit like this one that is on your QVL:
F4-3200C16D-16GTZR
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yb...b-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3200-memory-f4-3200c16d-16gtzr

Also...
CrossFire is not a thing anymore, almost no gains in most games.
1 big issue:
SSD?
With build like that installing windows on HDD is like mounting LPG on Lamborghini.
Games might be also affected by it.
IF possible, add 500GB NVME os drive and 500 GB sata game dir.

1 small thing:
(are you sure you need Blue ray for 70$)
I did not use any optical for months now.... with pendrives being faster/bigger AND easier to use than DVD/blueray. AND if you want to download games, steam or other services download at 10-50 MB/s

Fair enough. However, I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to convey with the current build selection. A 500GB NVME is going to be dedicated to the os, while a 500GB SATA will be used for games. So I get rid of the HDD?

Also, a Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB is cheaper than the nvme drive you listed and is a great performing SSD:

I see it (didn't realize I had to refresh every few minutes.) The parts list should hopefully update as I go along- thanks for helping out. Also, is the video card good or should I try to go for something, well, higher?

I think you will be fine for the next 3 years or so with a 5700 XT, I have a 3700x with a RTX 2060 Super (with slightly lower performance than a 5700 XT) and I am Very happy wih it.
I game at 1080p/60Hz and get anywhere from 90 to 200 fps in current AAA games but my setup could easily handle a 1440p at 60 - 80 fps or more.

So I'm sure a 5700 XT would give you even higher fps.

An as for the SSDs, I have 4 SSDs and a 2 TB HDD in my PC and I LOVE the speed I get when loading games or apps and when transferring files from one SSD to another.
I use the HDD to store less used data and back ups.

Alright, awesome! Also, the case is just for compatibility's sake. Lastly, what of running CF/SLI? I'm guessing two cards or more would be more suited to dual/tri monitor 1440p setups or heavy workloads like 3D modeling. Furthermore, would VR be an issue on this card?

I personally have Never even considered running 2 GPUs because sadly the benefits are pretty minimal for the extra cost.

I don't do VR but it seems the 5700 XT falls between the RTX 2060 Super and the RTX 2070 Super on VR games.
