I bought an asteroids machine, it didnt have a board, so i bought a
working boardset, now the games plays fine except for i can only see
the top right hand corner of the screen, the other 3/4 of the screen
are blank, any ideas of common problems to check?
thanks!

sounds like you have some bad cage transistors. buy the monitor rebuild kit
from zanen use heat sink compound on the trans.

I'll second the idea of replacing the chassis mounted transistors but
while you're waiting for those to arrive, remove the deflection board
and fix any cold solder (cracked solder joints) on the header pins. If
it hasn't been done yet, you'll likely find bad connections anywhere
there is a header pin / connector on the board.

Another great resource for monitor repair is at www.ionpool.net check
out the B&W XY Faq which is very well done.
