Asus 1050 ti strix + amd fx 4100?

I have a gtx 550 ti and I am looking for an upgrade and I found out my friend has a psu with 6 pin and I was wondering if my fx 4100 cpu will bottleneck an Asus strix 1050 ti? If I have to go out and buy an am4 mobo and a ryzen 5 or something to get all the performance out of it I can but is it worth it?

Yeah it will bottleneck some. But that shouldn't keep you from getting the 1050 Ti. You can always decide later if you feel you need to upgrade to Ryzen.

What games do you play? It will bottleneck the 1050 ti in many games, however it should still provide a sizable improvement over your 550 ti especially in older games or games that aren't that cpu heavy. I agree with the above poster I would get the gpu now then upgrade to ryzen later if you feel you want to.
