Hi,
I have a pretty decent system (details below) and as I have a water-cooled I7 4770K cpu I thought I'd give overclocking a go. I have an Asus Impact VI motherboard so decided to use the 4-way Intelligent Optimization to do it for me. I chose an overclock of 4.4ghz and temps never reached above 35-40c. This worked perfectly fine for about 2 days (two uses), and then reverted back to the stock 3.9ghz on the third day... any idea why this happened, surely the 4770K can handle it?
p.s I switch my computer off from the back once its off (as I don't like leaving electronics on standby)
System:
i7-4770K CPU
Corsair H100i
16gb Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz lp ddr3
Asus Impact VI w/WIFI Motherboard
EVGA GTX 980 SC w/ ACX 2.0
Corsair HX 750w power supply
Corsair FORCE 480gb SSD
Seagate 2tb internal hard drive
Corsair 250D case
