ASUS 5PK - no sound from realtek HD audio chipset

Hello,

I have a problem - I bought Asus 5PK motherboard, installed it, installed drivers included on the CD with motherboard but I can't make the sound driver work. After installation it asks to reboot - but when I reboot nothing happens - in the device manager there is no sound card installed, also dxdiag shows no sound device installed. I don't know what to do, in bios it's enabled.

Please help!

Are these installed?

Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture Bus driver
Intel INF installation

Is the volume in Windows and on the speaker tuned up?

Is the audio cable plugged in the green jack?

Thanks for your help, auscanzukus, but I solved the problem other way. I was tired of examining this issue so I bought SB Audigy SE PCI card for about 23 euro and that's working. Thanks again for your help.

For all those that have these problems the drivers on the CD are OLD, you have to go onto website and download new ones
