Hi there,

I recently bought a Asus 7970 Matrix card but it is not displaying anything on my monitor but it is getting a signal as it is not going in to sleep mode.

Specs:

Nesteq 620w PSU
Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Mobo
Intel i5 3570k
1 x 128gb SSD

When the card is attached with both pci-e connectors it has both PCI-E indicators on green. I turn on the pc and get no display in BIOS nor Windows.

I've also tried it in another older computer I have, specs:

Nesteq 620w PSU (same as the other pc)
Asus P5KC
Intel Q6600
1 x 128gb SSD

Same results.

I am possibly thinking the psu is not man enough to handle it?

But I have read that 550w psu's can be used with it unless overclocking, which isn't my current intention.

I really don't want to buy another psu when it turns out it is the card at fault.

Any tips would be great, thanks.

Might see if you can borrow a different PSU and try, not familiar with your PSU Brand/Model, but know many that are advertised as say 550, are showing peak power output, check the label on the PSU and see what it shows under the 12v, chances are good it's more like 400-500 rather than 550

Thanks for your reply. I buckled and bought a new psu, it is the XFX P1-750S-NLB9 750W.

I plugged it in and......... it is doing the same as my original psu. I'm going to double double check my connections.

Is there something that I'm missing with the gfx card? i.e. a switch that I have over looked?
