Asus 9800GT Ultimate dead?

Hi, I installed a 9800GT Ultimate into my new computer and when i start it up the fan runs continuously at 100% and doesn't go back down. Also there is no image displaying. I have the drivers already installed. What did i do wrong?

also sorry for the triple post. the site keeps telling me the webpage is unavailable and hitting F5 doesn't help. Post here if you could provide assistance.

Sounds like your pc isn't booting, check that the power cables are plugged in to your card, also see if it boots without the card in.

Also i was struck by the same weird triple post thing, i have no idea whats going on.

The computer does seem to be booting up beeps and everything. Problem is no picture. I think it's a power problem or the card is dead. I'll try to make sure the cable is secure, but the connector is kinda weird. The package came with a power splitter and splits it into two 3 rod connectors which i do not have only a small rectangular 6 slot adapter.
