Question ASUS A68HM-K RAM ISSUE

I recently upgraded the ram of my friends PC it detects both of them (2x4 GB) BUT shows only 3.8gb available.
I installed Windows 10 Pro 64BIT on his pc.
I have tested both the rams differently in both slots and individually and it still doesn't detect the total 8GB RAM. i feel really disappointed as the pc is unusable for light gaming like CS/DOTA2 . it feels like i did something. but the ram dimms are working as i have tested both of them as they were used in my previous build and it worked likr a charm before. PLEASE HELP.

same brand same model (ZION 4GB 1600mhz 1.5v DDR3)
