How do I get bios to detect my IBM desk star 100 ata hard drive
I have it set to auto
But it doesnt find it
Im using 100 ata connection
Is there a way to solve this problem

Can I install it in 60 Ata slot
Find hard drive info
Then reconnect to 100 ata slot
And install same hard drive numbers

Or what else can I do

Thx

Check the jumpers, then check them again. Check the cable and the power. What size of drive is it? Also if you have anything else connected I would dis-connect it to rule out and conflicting jumper settings.

The BIOS on this machine should be able to support anything from Megabytes to 127Giga-bytes.

Remember, you may have to install "mass storage drivers" from the mobo CD. I'm not that familiar with your mobo, thats why I say 'may'.

He should only need to do that if the OS didn't see the drive. In this case it's the BIOS. So it has to be a setting or a piece of hardware that's the problem. ;)
