I have just installed an Asus A7V8X-X motherboard and an Athlon 2500XP
processor.
When I first started the pc up and it goes to bios settings, it shows CPU
Speed 1467 MHz and CPU Frequency Multiple x 11.
Should this not show that CPU Speed as 2500 Mhz.
How do I rectify this as I cant find anything in the book on how to change
this.
TIA

Should be 1833MHz at default speed. 11x166MHz FSB. You need to set the FSB
to 166, as it's now running at 11x133. The 2500 is the performance rating,
not the clock speed. If your cpu isn't locked, you can change the
multiplier and/or the FSB to increase/lower the speed. The FSB is
controlled by the MB, Max for your board is around 185MHz before throwing
other buses out of wack.
