Hello guys
I found only thread about asus a8n-sli but pictures doesn´t work
http://sg.vr-zone.com/?i=1624&s=1

or is there between a8n-e and a8n-sli huge layout difference?
what to mod and how?
I am a soldering newbie so I prefer pencil mod if possible
thx
if you need some pictures let me know
I have 2nd revision of a8n-e board

I picked up an ASUS A8N-E thinking I would replace a Biostar 6100-M9 integrated microATX board, but took it back out because it doesn't overclock worth crap. The Biostar will run my opteron 170 at 2.7 GHz at stock voltage (1.3V) and the chipset is passively cooled, never even gets warm. The A8N-E refused to clock much more than 2.2 GHz no matter what I did. I didn't try volt-modding the chipset, I figure that I'd rather have something stable, cool and silent without the potential risks of a hard mod. If you get it figured, let us know how you did it and what your results are.

my friedn has A8N-e too and he clocked his san diego 3700+ to 2.95GHz@1.52V
I know it isn´t overclocking beast like DFI or Abit but it has good oveclocking abilities and very good price
I can ran ma a64 3200+ at 2.5GHz at deafult voltage but I can´t get it pass prime 95 more than about 2.6 with 1.55V
so I think I am limited by board not by cpu
I prefer pencil mode because If I wasn´t limited by board it could be removed an nobody will know it if rma will be needed
I don´t think cooling will be the problem because thermalrigt hr-05 sli is on the way

might it be one of those chips?
