Anyone know when this motherboard is due to go public. It's the single
PCI-E verion of the A8N-SLI.

This place has been taking orders since November:

Just buy the SLI one and have done with it, it won't be much cheaper if at
all anyway.

Looks as though it lacks the second (SI) SATA controller. It appears
that it has the (Marvell) NIC, but does NOT have the built-in NF4
Gigabit controller implemented . In benchmarking, the Marvell Gbit
was much better (much less CPU usage) than the NF4 controller, but
it's difficult to believe that Asus wouldn't implement this controller
that's already sitting there.
In other words, I'm not sure that this board is worth waiting for if
this retailer has the specs right. Does anyone know if this is how
the A8N-E will really be configured?

The A8N-E has all of the nForce4 Ultra chipset features including LAN, it
does not have the Marvell LAN - the chip is missing from the motherboard. It
does not have the second set of SATA sockets (Silicon Image 3114R RAID
controller). It does not have any 1394 Firewire sockets - the chip is
missing. Basically it is a A8N-SLI (non-Deluxe) without the SLI and firewire.
I've no idea what possessed them to get rid of firewire!
