Asus AI Pro overclocking utility

I have been trying to find a way to overclock my athlon 3500+ venice processor on an Asus A8N-VM motherboard. This motherboard has very limited overclocking capability and all I have been able to achieve is to increase FSB from 200mhz to 219mhz, resulting in processor speed increase of 2.2 to 2.43ghz.

I was therefore interested to learn of the Asus AI Pro software overclocking tool. Would I be able to use Asus AI Pro to overclock my processor (I would like to fractionally increase core voltage) and if so, where can I get it. I have google searched for it but with no success.

I tried it with limited success. I ended up getting more out of working directly with the BIOS.

I have played with it, but find it better to use the BIOS directly for overclocking...

ok thanks, but the motherboard A8N-VM has no bios tweaks! All it has is the facility to increase FSB from 200mhz up to 230mhz. I was able to increase FSB to 219mhz before system became unstable. So that is the reason I must try software to overclock, if only to be able to increase core voltage.

NOTE I check your mobo in the ASUS supprt site and the AI booster doesn't come up for your mobo but give it a go if you want to take the risk.

I previously ran an Athlon 64 X2 3500+ skt939 on an ASUS A8N-SLI mobo.
The AI Booster Utility was included on the driver CD, and I discovered through use that the AI booster works only with AI series boards it only works if you set the overclocking feature in the BIOS to auto allowing the software to do the overclocking.
So I don't think it will work with your current mobo unless its an AI board. If you really want to get into overclocking there are some good affordable mobos out there that have BIOS's with some awesome overclocking features and you might still pickup an AMD skt AM2 Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition really cheap, they have been successfully overclocked to 3.2GHz stable!, depending on what you want to do. you could always upgrade and sell your hardware on ebay.
