ASUS AI Suite Overclocking

A year or so ago i read that using this Asus overclocking tool was not necessarily a good idea.

Now the tools been around a while and we have seen new processors and boards what are peoples feelings about it now ?

On my p8z77-v lx i5 3570k it has settled at 103.2 with a 43 multiplier to give 4.429

AI suite It seems to readily overclock via BCLK

According to Cpu-z my core volts will go up to 1.4 with it varying around 1.24 most of the time



Additionally as the BCLK is overclocked .. when people go and say overclock their graphics card via catalyst overdrive presumably they are overclocking the GPU on top of the BCLK overclock .. ?

overclocking from the bios is always a better idea. with the 3570k, you are better off to leave the BCLK alone and just overclock using the multiplier. going up to 1.4 is unnecessary for 4.4 ghz. i run my 3770k at 4.4 ghz at 1.22 volts.

If it is always a better idea why is the software seeming to do otherwise as a default ?

it shouldnt by default, you may have hit the turbo setting
