Asus AI Tweaker

Hi. Is AI tweaker the correct way to do CPU overclocking in the bios? I've discovered the store I brought my system from must have done a overclock before it left. I'm trying to work out whether it is a manual overclock or perhaps a tweaked turbo mode. Can a manual overclock be voltage adaptive?

AI Suite reads the CPU clock at 4.5ghz, so does Task Manager. I also notice in AI Tweaker in the bios the ratio is set at 45.

I'm guessing AI Tweaker is used to do the overclock?

Yes.

If you want to get rid of your overclcok and you're unsure how to do it, an easy way is to just do a bios or cmos reset.

I'm failing to understand my OC. In AI Suite CPU core voltage is set to adaptive. Does adaptive fluctuate CPU speed? I have disabled Speed Step and it still fluctuates. The OC is set to 4.5ghz but under 100% CPU load it never heads towards 4.5ghz and sometimes even down clocks under load. Frustrating..
