Hi there, I have the computer listed below. Running COD I get awesome FPS like insane, but running FSX inside 20-30 FPS (which I capped at 30 FPS anyway b/c it's old software and it's a CPU HOG! I recently updated from the spec graphics card to a PNY Gforce 970 GTX. Upgraded ram to 16 Gig... so now I'm wondering, would upgrade to FX8500 (or what ever it is with 8 cores) make a noticeable difference and if not is my motherboard equipt to handle a I7 chip? If not what motherboard would I need? also, my C drive is too small, can I order one somewhere to be cloned if I copy mine to a cloud or something so I don't have to transfer everything myself? Thanks you guys are great!

that os you have is a oem and does work will all the new part or retail ,for the hdd you could buy a bigger one and use the free software from the maker link to made aexact copy of the 1 tb you have ,intel cpu could not be fit on amd board and the same the other way .

If you want the best FSX performance get an Intel Core i7-4790K and an Intel Z97 chipset motherboard. The Intel Core i5-4690K is also way better than AMD's best processor in FSX. Overclocking the CPU even gains you more performance.

Even an Intel Pentium G2120 performs better than an AMD FX-9590 in FSX.

An SSD also helps in speeding up the loading of the game and scenery.

thanks so much Scout! do you have a link I can follow and a product specifically that you could recommend to get a cloned replacement?

Thank you for the info Granmaster/KO888! I appreciate it. I'm not checking the "solved" button yet b/c I want to see what others say, but I will likely take your advice, when I can afford....
