I have an Asus R9 280x graphics card recently purchased and ever since I have had the card I have been noticing this issue. I have searched the forums and google and cannot find an issue similar to what I am experiencing. For some reason, when my computer boots up to the login screen it displays this purplish overcast. The overcast remains even on the desktop and the only way I can get rid of it is to change the resolution and go back to the original resolution. I guess it refreshes the graphics card by doing that. The good thing is, if I leave my computer on and don't turn it off I never have the issue but everytime I do a system restart the purple overcast reappears. Some of the behaviors that I have noticed of the overcast.
1. It does not affect the bios. The bios runs in normal color with no overcast.
2. The overcast only starts when I get to the login screen.
3. I cannot take a screenshot of it using the Print Screen function. If I do, the screenshot comes out normal without the overcast even if the overcast is present.

System specs:
ASUS crosshair Formula Z motherboard
AMD FX-8350
G.Skill DDR3 2400 8GBx2 RAM
Windows 8.1
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
edit: I completely uninstalled Catalyst and all the display drivers. Windows used Radeon HD 7900 drivers and the issue was gone. However I can't not have the drivers as it affects so many other areas so I reinstalled Catalyst and the drivers and the overcast reappeared. I guess that means it's either a driver or software setting? Sorry if this is lengthy, just trying to provide as much information as I can.
