asus amd radeon r7 260x problem

my asus AMD radeon r7 260x give me a black screen at some point, some times it fixes itself and a drivers crash message shows up, if this is not the case i have to reboot the cpu

I already made some research and found out that i have to download the AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver, i have the 13.12 version and still crash, i have try already the 13.11 and still have the same problem

Alright, now that you've said you use a HDMI cable I've another thought for you.

Firstly, do you have another HDMI cable, if so use it and see if there is a problem. I've often seen HDMI cables do this after wearing or moving, this has happened to my xbox 360, PS3 and Computer, that's why I use DVI-I now.

So I would suggest save money all together and just replace the HDMI cable as that sounds like what the issue is.

And this is all the time or when you're playing games?

It shouldn't be a power problem, you've quite a fair bit left for HDD and fans and all the bits.

Does the screen black out randomly or during certain circumstances.

it is random, mostly when i am hearing a youtube video or a video on VLC, and some times on the browser you can see a little bit of corrupcion, pinks lines or little squares of notingh, just gray squares, at that momenet i know it will happen soon

so far speaking of games, i have no problem, just ones playing bioshock, but so far so good

Sounds like a bad card. I'd contact ASUS support about getting an RMA.

Eh, could be a bad card but I actually think it'd be your monitor. Seeing as bioshock works fine.

Have you changed your screen settings at all? Most monitors (basic monitors that is) are 60Hz and if your frame rate is higher or you adjust something, even by accident you can get screen tearing. I've had that happen to my ASUS Laptop before.

How old is the monitor you have and what connection do you use, DVI, VGA. Ect.

i am using my TV as a monitor, is a panasonic TV of 32 inch LCD, connected with a HDMI cable, if it is the case, where i can changed this settings? so far the only thing i have change is the resolution, currently at 1380x768

I say it's the card. I got 2 of the Asus R7 260x DC2 OC 2GB cards in December and have sent them both back for the same thing. TDR BSOD with the driver that comes with the card and random black screen (but not OS crash, still have HDD activity and audio and can <Crtl><Alt><Del> and tab over to shut down your PC) with the latest greatest AMD drivers.

I tested the RAM, upgraded the power supplies, upgraded BIOS, tried different drivers and different versions of Windows all to no avail. I even tried different monitors and different ports, including HDMI with two different cables that work on other PCs, just because I didn't want it to be these cool looking new cards I just got. But, it was the cool looking junky new cards I just got. Things are working fine now with the replacement XFX 7850 Core 2GB cards.

Good luck, but don't be afraid to think that the card itself is bad.

I would agree with MCSE99 if it was not for the pink and grey lines.

It's those in particular combined with the fact he uses HDMI cables that makes me think it is the cable instead of the card.

Same problem here. Have send in my Asus Radeon R7 260X already twice and it only got worse. Both tested systems work fine with my HD6700. I will request my money back.
