ASUS Anti-Surge detected an unstable power supply unit on the last power-up on TX850M

Hi,

Just this night my pc shut off two times after booting to my desktop, and then it came up with a message "ASUS Anti-Surge detected an unstable power supply unit on the last power-up".

Sometimes, my system also displays a warning on the system tray about the voltage rate hitting about 3.0++V (something like that..)

I've read a few threads suggesting to disable the ASUS anti-surge off, but I'm not really comfortable doing it so as its supposed to protect your system & hardware.

While creating this thread no warnings or rebooting has been made by my system so far..

SPECS:
i7 2600
ASUS z77-M Pro
Corshair TX850M
GTX 660ti

I bought my PSU 2 years ago & I'm not overclocking CPU yet.

What seems to be the problem ? Do I need to replace my PSU ???

Please help..

If you have another PSU lying use this to test your system for a couple of weeks, if no issue happens then just replace the PSU.

Corsair usually has some defective PSU's. I wouldn't recommend them, but some people say they are good like 4/5 of the time.

Thermaltake, anatech, evga have some great PSU's you should check them out.

I personally do not have a Corsair PSU and i use thermaltake because I have had no issues with mine which is a Thermaltake toughpower 80+ Gold certified. Make sure when you buy a PSU thatt is 80+ bronze or higher.

I my resolved problem!

I removed the side case and sort out some cable connections from the PSU down to MOBO, then check some loose cables, and reconnect again then viola!!!

Its been a month already and the warning message doesn't show anymore. My peace of mind came back again!

That's good! I didn't see your PSU correctly, I thought it was a CX, TX is a high rated PSU
