When i try to boot my pc the asus antisurge on my P8H61-M LX keeps going off. I have read that the antisurge feature detects harmless surgesbut on the bios it shows that the 5v line is gettin 6.1v. I dont really know if that is wrong and i should be safe turning off antisurge or i should be concerned
My build
EVGA 400w PSU
Intel I5 3450
4gb of DDR3 Crucial RAM(single stick)
GTX 750ti
Asus P8H61-M LX

It still shows that the power supply is giving 6.1v through the 5v pin, is that safe enough to run games ar anything like that

If it shows 6.1 volts in the BIOS, then either the PSU or the sensor on the motherboard is defective. If you don't have another PSU to test, then use a DVM to check voltages; 6.1 volts is not safe. If the PSU really delivers 6.1 volts, then you should have stability issues.

i have been running youtube with max resaloution and not noticing any difference in preformance, what kind of stability issues should i be looking for

Solution

i dont knwo how id check the voltage because i have this PSU,
https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=100-n1-0400-l1, how would one do so
*i just connected it to a 240w psu and it says its now at a 5.6v through the 5v but i am still concerned

I'm thinking the same, and i also found a third psu and it was a 350w and it still said it was over volting. Thank you for the help
