Asus Aura - GPU

Hey,

I recently bought a GTX 1080 TI from Asus with a RGB Aura system. Unfortunately, after installing all drivers, updating them, and installing AURA software, when I try to enable them, pops up a prompt saying "NON-AURA". I do not know what that means, I tried to download older versions, open with administrator - it did not work. It would be great if someone could share their experiences and possible solution to the above problem.

AURA is buggy as hell, I have it on my motherboard and it just causes issues, have you tried the version with the installation disk ? (your English is fine btw)

I've tried everything and unfortunately nothing helps. The program just does not turn on - pops up the prompt "NON-AURA" and that's it actually.

When I tried installing it from the website it always said no compatible devices, only way it would work was with the provided disk, maybe something worth contacting asus over

Could be some proprietary conflict. You may need a special cable or adapter within the hardware connections.

Doublecheck the detailed specifications of everything involved.

Watch for words such as "compatible with".

Just because a connector, for example, will physically fit does not mean that the product will actually work.

And consider that some part may be defective. The end result being that the software does not see the part and the only error message it has is "NON-AURA".

Try different cables, try the LEDs and software on another system.

The goal is to narrow down the problem.

Perhaps the problem is that my power supply is not modular in any way and does not have a 2x8 PIN power supply. For this I had to buy a connector to connect the power to the above card. However, the drivers are installed correctly, the GeForce Experience detects the card, so why would not the system detect RGB?

Does everything work except the RGB/AURA software?

You need 12+ volts for the LEDs - correct?

Perhaps the fault could be in the connecting cable between the card's RGB header and the LED strip.

And please provide more information about your power supply and the connector you are using to power the GTX 1080 TI.

Could be that the connector is not providing all of the necessary voltages or may be defective and failing to provide those voltages.

Yes, everything works except AURA RGB. The power supply I use is XFX TS 550W (P1-550S-XXB9). The power supply has a 12V line, and - as I mentioned earlier, there is no 2x8PIN connector needed for this adapter. I had to buy it and so far everything works fine except for the above system.

which exact 1080ti did you buy?

is the aura meant to work with only the gpu? --ie aura controls leds built into the gpu no led strips needed

or is the 1080ti meant to be connected with a 4 pin cable to an aura header on the motherboard?

I bought the Asus GTX 1080 TI 11 GB ROG STRIX model, the same leds on the card - only lit orange. The card is connected via a 2x8 PIN connector.
