asus aura sync cant individually control leds on led strip

I recently bought a cablemod adressable led strip:

I connected it to the rgb header on my aura sync capable asus prime Z370-A and entered the aura sync software in windows. I activated the rainbow effect and noticed that the rgb on my motherboard was using a different color for each led, but the leds on the led strip were all the same color even though it was synced with the motherboard.
can anyone help me to get this to work?

i figured it out, my motherboard rgb header does not support addressable led strips
